Monster XXXperiment v1.0.0 Beta Changelog (06/16/24)

New Features:

• NEW! Monster XXXperiment has been completely rebuilt from the ground up to allow for easy updating of the game going forward for the rest of development.
• NEW! You can now do “Activities” with your Kin to be able to gain Social Points and Affection Points with them. While other activities will grant you Reputation and Funding for yourself. (Currently all activities are active and Kin specific activities are not for this version of the Tech Demonstration.)
• NEW! Shops have been introduced to the game. These shops will contain items to unlock new activities to do with your Kin, gifts that can be purchased for your Kin, quest items to complete certain Kin’s quest, and upgrades to your facility to make managing and researching your Kin easier. (Currently the shops only contain items necessary for Flare’s main gameplay loop for this version of the Tech Demonstration)
• NEW! Once a day you can now restore your Kin’s energy by giving them a meal in the diet screen. Kin have their preferred meals and food they like to eat, keep that in mind to restore more energy when feeding them. However don’t forget to feed them, they wouldn’t like that. (Currently only the base “5” meal types previously are in the rotation for this version of the game.)
• NEW! Kin will now hint to hidden discoveries you can find out about their species. These discoveries are unlocked from doing things like changing a Kin’s room a bunch of times. Leaving them in rooms that are too cold or to hot, maybe talking to them too much or too little. Honestly anything but they hint to what you have to do in their dialogue to find these discoveries. These discoveries will reward the player with very special gifts from a lot of funding to maybe something more spicy~.(Currently Research Discoveries are disabled for this version of the game.)
• NEW! Now Kin and Karen will be able to give you a “task” to accomplish further research on a Kin or to earn some extra funding for your facility. (Currently Tasks are disabled for this version of the game.
• NEW! Kin’s rooms are now more customizable with you being able to change what music plays in their environment, as well as changing the decorations in their environment as well. (Currently changing decorations is disabled for this version of the game.)
• NEW! You can now Game Over.
• We have refined our random event system to be a little less in your face and more so something that is available but it will be up to the player to initiate the event with the Kin.(Currently random events are disabled for this version of the game.)

Artwork:

• Sadly we had to say farewell to SanZhang but LustFire was willing to step up and do artwork for Monster XXXperiment alongside Levy.
• NEW! All of the MC’s artwork has been remade.
• NEW! MC’s have new blinking and talking animations.
• NEW! All of Karen’s artwork has been remade.
• NEW! Karen has new blinking and talking animations.
• NEW! All of Flare’s artwork has been remade.
• NEW! Flare have new blinking and talking animations.
• NEW! All of Flare’s H-Scenes have been remade.
• NEW! Lobby background has been created by Foo.
• NEW! New Icons have been created by Foo.
• Some GUI has been created by Starry.

Writing:

• Thanks to WhiteFeather and Pyksies Flare has more content then ever seen before!
• NEW! Flare now has over 3k lines of dialogue. (Pray for the writers they need it.)
• NEW! Flare’s story has been re-created and retold.
• NEW! Flare’s H-Scenes have been re-created.
• NEW! Writing now has options for different dialogue paths to make the game less linear.

Bugfixes:

• So…so many…so many bugs…but we won…maybe?
